Essential Duties:

  • Directs the activities of the department by providing leadership to creatively manage and implement departmental goals and policies, available staffing levels, and administer policies and procedures in accordance with organizational policies
  • Directs and coordinates decision-making related to procurement matters to include reviewing, evaluating, and recommending a variety of bids and proposals for goods and services based on procurement laws, regulations, small purchases and best practices
  • Communicates and facilitates finance and procurement processes including policy creation and education while supporting and overseeing AR and AP Staff with timely processing of AP
  • Acts as an advisor to the Supervisor on all matters relating to contracts and procurement
  • Manages the organization’s procurement and contract management system
  • Analyzes complex issues and provides recommendations for corrective actions
  • Prepares documents in support of fiscal presentations
  • Performs other duties as directed by the Supervisor
  • Perform a variety of advanced financial analyses to determine present and forecasted financial health of the company
  • Use financial modeling to simulate financial scenarios
  • Present potential scenarios and outcomes to management team
  • Manage the preparation and publication of departmental and organization financial documents
  • Collaborate with management on development and execution of funding strategies
  • Examine financial and legal documents to verify accuracy and adherence to financial regulations and acceptable financial principles
  • Develop or recommend solutions for problems or situations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required (MBA preferred)
  • 5+ years’ experience in a financial management position
  • Proven strategic planning experience at the management level
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated creative and critical thinking skills
  • Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a broad knowledge of management practices, business judgement, and client/consumer interaction
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing; and organizing and reporting information
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning system preferred, specifically with finance and purchasing modules
